a very cool underwater waterfall!

In the Pacific ocean there is a tiny island southeast of the coast of Africa named Mauritius. Mauritius has a long history of colonisation - beginning in 975 AD when the Portuguese first founded it and ending in 1968 when the island became a republic. So fifi, why are you telling us this? Well dear blog viewer, when my friend told me that she was from this fascinating island I began to research facts and stumbled across a crazy picture depicting an underwater waterfall! How cool is that! So I decided to do some research into the crazy illusion.

The "Underwater Waterfall" is located at the south western tip of the island. Unfortunately it's just an illusion that is seen when looking from a birds eye view. When looking from above the silt and sand runoff creates the impression of a "vortex" however when looking from other angels, the ocean appears as a blur of majestic aquas, blues and greens.

Even though its just a trick, there is something fascinating about an underwater waterfall. There is so much of our oceans that we don't know about and have never explored, so to find something magical would be a real treat! Hope you are all having a great day! Fifi xx

It's getting warmer baby!

It has officially been spring for 14 days now but it's really only hitting me just now how warm it's getting and how close we are to summer! Boy am I looking forward to those hot nights and long days at the beach with my closest friends and family! However much I am excited to see those gorgeous summer days, I still enjoy Spring immensely. I always feel hopeful, almost like the plants are starting again and so can I! Spring to me is a time of colour, happiness and accessorising! 

My Nonna, Cugini and Zia (italian for grandmother, cousins and auntie!) recently came back from a 2 month holiday touring around Italy - where our family is originally from. They visited the places that my Nonna and Nonno grew up and a few other cities. The photos are just magnificent however my nonna seems to have forgot to put in a memory card and therefore the photos are only able to be viewed from the screen of her iPad. Forgetting all that, she brought me back some beautiful beads from Venezia (Venice). In December I am lucky enough to be going to Italy too and hearing the stories that my family has told me, I anticipate this trip eagerly!

This is the braclet! My nonna said that each braclet that is made has a unique pattern on it. I like the idea of this - that no two bracelets are the same. 

When I was (admittedly) modelling my braclet I saw this patch of rainbow on my wall and thought the colours were just beautiful!

Hawaii!

A little while ago I was lucky enough to travel to Hawaii. I had planned to make a post about it, but I lost all of the photos on my laptop so instead I wrote about New York. But don't fear, I have found the photos! Hawaii was a magical place filled with wonderful, bright and happy people who somehow knew where we were from! It was a great trip and I encourage anyone and everyone to go to Hawaii.
